Coaching for anxiety - Mikey Hatton

Worry, fear, and overthinking what might go wrong

Anxiety

When Anxiety Begins to Shape Your Thinking

Anxiety

Anxiety is a natural response to uncertainty or pressure. In small amounts it can increase awareness and help people prepare for challenges. However, when anxiety becomes frequent it can begin to shape how someone thinks, feels, and behaves. Many people experience it as persistent worry, racing thoughts, difficulty relaxing, and a constant sense that something might go wrong.

Why Anxiety Happens

The Pattern Behind It

Anxiety often develops through a combination of thinking habits, emotional conditioning, and behavioural responses. The mind begins anticipating problems, analysing possible risks, and trying to control uncertainty. Over time this pattern can become automatic, causing anxiety to appear even when situations are manageable.

The Anxiety Loop

How the Pattern Repeats

For many people anxiety follows a repeating cycle. The mind anticipates a possible problem, the body responds with tension or stress, and behaviour follows through overthinking, hesitation, reassurance seeking, or avoidance. These responses reduce anxiety temporarily but reinforce the pattern, causing it to repeat.

The Mikey Hatton Approach

Changing the Pattern

Mikey's work focuses on understanding the deeper patterns shaping behaviour. Rather than trying to eliminate anxiety through willpower, the work explores how belief systems influence identity and emotional reactions. When beliefs begin to change, identity shifts, and behaviour often begins to change with it.

Small Steps That Can Help

Interrupting the Pattern

People experiencing anxiety can begin by increasing awareness of their mental patterns. Noticing anxious thoughts without reacting immediately, slowing breathing, writing down recurring worries, and focusing on one task at a time can help interrupt automatic cycles of worry.

Coaching Support

Working With Mikey

If anxiety has become a repeating pattern in your life, coaching provides a space to explore the beliefs, emotional responses, and behaviours shaping that pattern. The goal is not simply to manage anxiety but to understand and change the system producing it.

Nothing changes until
the belief does.

The pattern you are in right now will not change on its own. It has not changed yet - not because you lack the will, but because the belief driving it has never been touched. Every week it continues is another week lived inside someone else’s story.

Mikey works with a small number of clients at a time.
